KLIP Annaram Power Substation Successfully Charged

Another notable forward step ahead in Kaleshwaram Project. The 400 kV Annaram Substation in the part of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme was successfully charged on 14th September 2018. Annaram Substation works taken up by engineering giant Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) and works done with war footing.
Irrigation CE Venkateshwar Rao, Transco Director Suryaprakash Rao, Executive Director Prabhakar Rao, MEIL CGM Raghu are participated in charging function.
The Project mainly involves construction of 220 KV Substation & 220kV TMDC Transmission Line. The substation is located at Peddapalli district, Manthani Mandal, Gunja Padugu Village. The 220/11KV Annaram Substation is constructed for providing power supply to Annaram pump house. The substation consists of 10 Nos of 50 MVA Transformers. 220 KV TMDC Transmission Line of 28 KM is laid from 400/220/11kV Sundilla Substation to 220/11kV Annaram Substation. The main purpose of this project is for providing power source to Annaram Pump house of 480 MW capacity with 12 Nos of Pumps for lifting around 2TMC of water per day from Annarm Barrage on Godavari River.

MEIL is constructing six substations as part of the Kaleshwaram Project. Four of them under Link-I, The 400 KV Ramadugu substation and400 KV Sundilla Substations are already commissioned. 220/11 KV Medigadda Substation will be commissioned shortly. The 400 KV Chandlapur and Tippapur Substations are being built under Link-II of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme.
With the availability of power supply at Annaram Pump House officials planning for motors dry run.  ‘Soon we will start dry run of two motors at Annaram Pump House and we are planning for wet run at Annaram pump house by next month’ CE Venkateshwarlu Said. ‘We are planning to do three motors dry run at Medigadda by this month ending and motors wet run at sundilla pump house will start by next month’ CE added.
